At WAIBEL Floristik in Austria, everything revolves around flowers, creativity, and craftsmanship. But even in this colorful sector, summer heatwaves are becoming an increasing challenge—especially in their 3,000 m² warehouse where materials and products are stored and processed. For CEO Marco Waibel, it was clear: an efficient and cost-effective solution was needed to control indoor temperatures during the summer. He found that solution in Cool-FX.
“We started using Cool-FX seven years ago, based on a recommendation from an acquaintance,” says Marco. “Over time, we discovered it’s simply the best solution we’ve tried.”
The coating was purchased from GBC - Österreich eGen in Schwechat and has proven itself year after year. What makes the difference for Marco? “The price-performance ratio is excellent. Other solutions we tested just weren’t effective enough. Without coating, it’s easily 10°C warmer in summer. Since using Cool-FX, it’s significantly cooler inside.”
The entire roof of the business has been treated with Cool-FX, resulting in a temperature drop of around 10°C on hot days. “That makes a huge difference—not just for the flowers, but also for our staff,” he emphasizes. “Working conditions are much more comfortable as a result.”
At WAIBEL Floristik, the coating is applied manually. “Due to the conditions on our premises, this is the only practical method. But it’s not an issue—the application is simple.”
Marco actually sees the temporary nature of the coating as an advantage: “After a few months, it washes away on its own—right when the sun is less intense. And in winter, we obviously want to make use of the heat.”
Marco is convinced: “Cool-FX is worth every cent. As far as I’m concerned, we’ll keep using it every year. And yes—I definitely recommend it to other companies dealing with heat issues in summer. It really works.”
